A good Thai sweet chilli sauce strikes a balance between sweet, spicy and tangy, without the heat overpowering the other flavours. To achieve this, Cottage Delight combines chilli, garlic, lime and paprika to create a complex, sweet-and-spicy sauce with a subtle citrus flavour that beautifully complements the mild chilli heat. The result is a sauce that appeals to everyone at the table, even those who don’t like it too hot.

Thanks to its pleasantly thick texture, the sauce clings well to food, making it particularly suitable as a dip or glaze. Whereas a thin sauce often drips off your food, this sauce stays put, ensuring more flavour with every bite and less mess. Use the sauce as a dip for spring rolls, snacks or finger food, as a glaze for poultry, meat or grilled dishes, or to add flavour to fish, bowls and stir-fries.

The sauce also works well in dressings or marinades. Stir a dash into a dressing for extra zing and sweetness, use the sauce as a base for a marinade for chicken or prawns, or mix it into a dip with yoghurt or mayonnaise for a milder version. Its versatility makes the sauce ideal for everything from a quick weekday meal to a lavish BBQ buffet.

The sauce is made in small batches, rather than through large-scale mass production. This ensures an authentic flavour that remains consistent from batch to batch – something you don’t always find in cheaper alternatives.

The sauce is vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free, making Cottage Delight’s Thai Sweet Chilli Sauce suitable for a wide range of people with varying dietary requirements.
