A good BBQ sauce combines multiple flavour dimensions without any one flavour dominating. Cottage Delight’s Smoky Chipotle Barbecue Sauce achieves this by combining a fruity tomato base with the characteristic smoky note of chipotle chilli. The result is a sauce with a subtle sweetness, fruity freshness and smoky depth, which is intense in flavour without being overpowering.

The sauce is incredibly versatile: it goes well with grilled meat, poultry and vegetables; in burgers, sandwiches and wraps; as a marinade, glaze or dip; or with potato dishes and oven-baked casseroles. The smoky, fruity flavour really comes into its own as a glaze: brush it onto meat or poultry during the final minutes on the grill, so that the sugars in the sauce caramelise nicely without burning. When added to a potato gratin or oven-baked dish, the sauce instantly imparts a BBQ-style depth of flavour that you would otherwise only achieve through prolonged smoking.

Thanks to its mild heat, the sauce appeals to a wide audience, and Cottage Delight’s Smoky Chipotle Barbecue Sauce is suitable for both classic barbecue dishes and more creative uses in the modern kitchen. This makes the barbecue sauce an excellent choice for anyone who loves smoky BBQ flavours but isn’t necessarily looking for a lot of heat, making it suitable for both a family barbecue and an elegant summer dinner.

The barbecue sauce is vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free. It suits a wide range of dietary requirements without compromising on flavour. Once opened, store in a cool place and shake well before use to ensure the flavours are thoroughly mixed and you get a consistent result every time. With just one bottle, you can instantly add smoky depth, fruity freshness and a hint of spice to almost any dish from the grill or oven, without having to spend hours smoking it yourself.
