A good ketchup doesn’t have to be complicated, but it’s nice if it offers a little more than just sweetness and tomato flavour. Stonewall Kitchen’s Country Ketchup does exactly that: a classic, tomato-based flavour complemented by the mild sweetness of onion and a subtle kick from red chilli flakes. This keeps the ketchup recognisable, yet just that little bit more interesting than a standard bottle off the shelf.
Thanks to the pieces of ripe tomato and the use of natural ingredients, the country ketchup retains a surprisingly fresh flavour. Instead of a smooth, heavily processed mixture, you can still really taste the tomato here, complemented by the mild sharpness of onion and a hint of chilli in the background. The combination of fruitiness and a hint of heat makes it ideal with burgers, chips and grilled dishes, but also with roast potatoes or as a base for sandwiches and fast-food-style dishes.
