Japanese, Chinese AND British-made!
When something becomes popular, they almost immediately recreate it in China. That is not a bad thing but Japan is known for its finesse and high quality. That results in excellent products. In China, they prefer to imitate something for a lower price. Not bad products, just a different price-quality ratio.
If you experience the quality of the original Japanese konro grill, you will never want to do anything else. What makes you notice this? The raw material for the clay is different in China, the composition is cheaper. The Japanese clay is 100% diatomaceous earth. And therein lies the essence between good and top quality.
We also have British-made, the Kasai Grill. A highly innovative konro grill whose, interchangeable, tiles are made of vermiculite, which undergoes an exfoliation process to become a unique Kasai tile. View them here.
Our Japanese BBQs have been handmade for centuries
Using an ancient process, our Japanese konros are handmade from diatomaceous earth. A raw material for clay from prehistoric strata in the sea. The clay made from this can withstand 1,000 degrees. Work with a real Japanese konro grill once and you'll notice the difference. And remember that in Japan the concept of quality is very different from that in China. Choose wisely!
Which size Konro Grill to buy?
We supply them in 20+ sizes. From very small to XL. Round, square and rectangular. Take a look at the mini konro for 2 people. Or go for extremely large: the Konro XL. This one is especially suitable for the professional.
Our smaller konros are mainly suitable for home use up to 8 people. The Konro Small and Konro Large and all models from Kasai are suitable for intensive use by the catering professional as well as for the serious hobby cook.

Why buy a Konro grill?
This question is not so hard to answer. Yakitori and yakiniku (Japanese for grilling on fire) is just really tasty! The flavours are pure and the possibilities are endless with this Japanese grill. Small or large. It doesn't matter. This amazing cooking technique has been intertwined with Japanese food culture for centuries. We call it BBQ 2.0. So pure, so flavourful and so refined. Such beauty can really only come from Japan!
Home use or for the professional?
We think every (home) chef should have a Konro Grill in his or her kitchen kit. But then again...we are slightly biased. Crazy we are about it! Deliciously grill, lacquer and repeat. Really cool to do together with your friends or family. The Konro is of course very suitable for grilling yakitori skewers, traditionally always chicken, but it also lends itself perfectly to (bellowing) searing Wagyu beef, other types of meat, fish, shellfish and don't forget the possibilities with vegetables! Everything tastes pure and honest when prepared on the original Japanese konro grill. Go ahead and get creative!
This is what you can do with the konro grill
Poultry & Meat
Grill chicken yakitori style and sear tender, thin slices of Wagyu!
Fish & shellfish
Grill shellfish or fish directly. Delicious! Taste the pure flavours!
Fruit & vegetables
Grill vegetables or even fruit. Lacquer it and be amazed at the taste!
What tools do I need?
The most important thing, of course, is the charcoal. Get the best! So choose binchotan! Also choose some handy tools right away. For lighting, we recommend a good BBQ starter. Do you want, during your session, to move your charcoal? Then opt for this sturdy coal tongs or a good BBQ tongs. Also handy for quenching your binchotan charcoal (in a steel bucket).
Indispensable: a set of heat-resistant gloves. In addition, we like to use a BBQ tweezers because it allows you to better dose your power on your ingredients. During grilling, there is regular lacquering, a good silicone brush should not be missing from your set. Let's grill.
